Reading the Vulgate in 2024

In 2024 I will begin a read-through of the Vulgate in Latin. As I will be following along with my church’s plan for reading through the Bible, I will not be reading the deutero-canonical books, just the 66 books of the undisputed canon.
I am inviting you along on this journey, which you may do in a couple of ways:
The easiest is by simply checking in to the Substack here, where I will host a very brief podcast (typically 15 minutes or less) each week with some thoughts about what I encountered in the readings.
Look out for a new FB group that will give you the opportunity to ask questions and make your own observations.
If you read Latin, read with me! Even if you can’t keep up with the pace required to get through the whole thing in a year, just do what you can. Every verse you read is one step closer to having read the whole thing!

I actually started on this last year and have read Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, and Romans 1-8. I plan to finish reading the NT by early 2024, and I may read-along with the group if I can make it align. It's a great idea, and I've enjoyed my own Vulgate reading so far.
Junius, what passages or books would you recommend for beginners? They are using Henle Latin. I have two in Henle 1 and one in Henle 4.
